Dear fellow campers, we are John and Mary
and these are our 4 children:
18 year old Alex, 15 year old Anne, 6 year old Louise and 3 year old Rose.
We would like
to recall the unforgettable holiday we spent last summer at he Smeraldo Campsite.
We reach the campsite on the bank of the splendid lake Bracciano
following the
road map
with no difficulty whatsoever. The spacious entrance graced with flowers
in bloom welcomes us into the inviting cool leafy shade of the Plane-tree. We
follow the sign
for the large carpark on the
right, the reception
on the left being where we met the friendly family that run
the campsite.
We are kindly shown to the site we have booked
, where Alex and Anne
pitch the tent in which their carefree holiday is to be spent. Absolute cleanliness
reigns in the washrooms and toilets they are about to use.
Mary, myself and the two small children settle into the beautiful mobile home
surrounded by it's pretty garden. It is quiet, practical and close by to a natural
spring that has formed a small pond
where there are goldfish and
water reeds.
An inviting fragrance draws us to the bar
where we are tempted to eat
lovely hot chocolate pasties.
There is nothing left for us and the children to do but make our choice on how
to spend the rest of our holidays: swimming pool for the kids
, paddling pool and play park for the tiny tots and for all of us four-a-side
football, basket ball, beach volley, sailing, surf, lots of sunbathing, swimmming
in the lake and unforgettable sunsets
.
We have worked up quite an appetite, which we are able to satisfy under the
shade of the Smeraldo Campsite's gazebo
with tasty meals, local wine and enticing pizzas.
With the bus which leaves from the campsite
or the train which leaves from
Anguillara station we are able reach Rome's city centre (Saint Peter's) where
we can easily catch the underground to see 'The Eternal City' sights. As well
as this, we go on lots of different excursions and interesting itineraries advised
to us by the campsite owners.
For the evening a good chat and a game of snooker
with our new friends from the campsite where it is like being part of
a big happy family, while Alex and Anne have fun on the grassy bank by the beach
where
teenagers can play the guitar, listen to music or have a barbeque, sometimes
the whole night long until the break of dawn while at the campsite silence is
being kept (14.00-16.00, 23.00-7.00).
Saturday evening there is Baby Dance, group dancing and disco music until one
o'clock …..music under the stars .
On August 15th games, tournaments and shows
where our children have a whale
of a time being actors while we are 'the audience'. It's not easy to keep everybody
happy, but at the Smeraldo Campsite we have found: relax, enjoyment, lots of
friends - in other words a real holiday. So what about you? What are you waiting
for? Make your reservations straight
away! Goodbye, see you soon, John and Mary.
